Read through to know about Zanzibar Best Restaurants – The Rock Restaurant Zanzibar, Zanzibar Food Market – Forodhani and Stone Town Zanzibar Best Restaurants – Emerson on Hurumzi.
The Rock Restaurant : Zanzibar Best Restaurants
The Rock restaurant is perched on a coral rock at the Zanzibar’s east coast at Michamvi beach. It’s every corner is wholly “Instagrammable” and also offers dining experience with a twist. This restaurant is one of the most renowned in Zanzibar and a high-end stop for those who wish to enjoy fresh seafood platter and other cuisines in exotic settings.
The restaurant is connected to the mainland by boat during high tide, and is also reachable by foot during low tide. Make sure you make an advance booking first thing in the morning either for lunch or dinner to avoid waiting queues.
Emerson on Hurumzi : Zanzibar Best Restaurants
Emerson on Hurumzi Middle Eastern & Zanzibar’s Arabic infused restaurant which is definitely a must-try. It is located on the rooftop of the second tallest building in Stone Town and also offers panoramic sights to the Indian Ocean and of the whole town too. This was definitely one of our favorite places to dine and would highly recommend visiting. The food here is extremely good, but it is more the spirit of Zanzibar which oozes from this little hidden rooftop gem that makes it such a special dining experience.
If you are a tea lover like us you can also pre book their ‘Tea Ceremony’ (15$ per person) in their beautiful and rustic designed Hurumzi House, which would truly be a different experience altogether.
Also you can choose to stay here, as they offer some amazing rooms with gorgeous views and rustic setup.
Explore the Forodhani Street Food Market
Forodhani Gardens is located inside Zanzibar’s historic Stone town, along the main promenade by the seafront. So every night Forodhani Gardens turns into a busy street food market from 6pm-12pm. This food joint turns crazy in terms of array of foods they offer. You can take a stroll by the seafront watching the sunset over the Indian Ocean while sampling delicious street food and drinks soaking in the atmosphere. Make sure you don’t miss out their oddly famous Zanzibari pizza and Zanzibari mix!
