For weekends we prefer exploring some amazing staycations in Kenya for a night or two. It really feels great leaving back the city chores, and spending some quality time for ourselves. We looked for some cozy places around Nairobi and this beauty caught our eyes – The Truck House. We researched for more information and details on this Truck House over Instagram handle and trust us, we both absolutely went gaga over it.

The Truck House – Location, How to reach, Booking info
The truck house is a revamped double storeyed truck which is now converted into a beautiful and cozy staycation. This truck house is tucked away from the city hustle, surrounded with low land fields and greens all around.
It is located in Machakos county which is just 1.5hrs drive from Nairobi city centre. Reaching this place might be little tricky because the area where it’s tucked is really deserted and ghosted. Simply turn on the GPS and find your easiest route and keep the track. You can either book this place through Airbnb or even offline.
Check-in time is 12pm and check-out at at your own convenience if there is no other booking for the day. Per day tariff – 80$.
What makes this place unique
The idea of converting a truck into a beautiful living and lively experience is definitely so unique in itself. The effort and mind put behind this unique staycation is really praise worthy. We were absolutely awestruck with the whole idea, the creativity and proper utilization of space with comfort. This place offers you everything you need, fully equipped kitchen & living room to bedroom(which also has a projector), barbecue space to outdoor pool, yes you heard it right – everything you name it!!
The Truck House – What to Expect
As this property is located in a country side surrounded with cattle’s & low land fields you might not be able to get easy access to stores and food joints. This place is rented as self-catering basis so we would recommend you to pack & carry your stuffs (eatables to all needful mindfully). You can also prefer carrying all raw materials if you wish to cook for a new experience altogether.
The entire property is highly secured especially for the night with multiple CCTV’s and alarms. In the evening the care taker helped us with setting up the bonfire (we got it complimentary while you can request the same for an extra charge of 400KES).We had an amazing barbecue night and sipped wines under the night sky and the same went for two beautiful days. It felt so exciting opening eyes inside a truck house beside the person I love with the calls of early bird and beam of sun-rays, couldn’t ask for more on winter mornings!
