We call Nairobi home now, which amazes us every time with its uniqueness. So for weekends we prefer exploring some amazing staycation in Kenya for a night or two. It really feels great soaking in the sun with a glass of wine, leaving back the city chores, and spending some quality time for ourselves. It was Riju’s birthday and we decided to escape the city for a night for staycations in Nairobi. We looked for some cozy places around Airbnb Nairobi and this interesting place caught our eyes – The Brandy Bus. The Brandy Bus is an old school double decker bus which is now upcycled and converted into a beautiful and cozy staycation. The bus hotel is tucked away from the city hustle , surrounded with peace and greens. Looking for an escape and staycations in Nairobi?? Then you’re just reading the right blog!! This place is located in the heart of Karen Rd which is just 20 kms away from Nairobi city center and is also close to many tourist attractions and restaurants. Reaching brandy bus is not a struggle at all. Simply turn on the GPS and find your easiest route . You can either book this place through Airbnb or even offline. Check-in time 2pm and check -out at 10am respectively. Per day tariff – 110$.

The idea of converting an old school bus into a beautiful living experience. We were absolutely awestruck with the whole idea, the creativity and proper utilization of space with comfort. This place offers you everything you need, fully equipped kitchen to living rooms to bedroom, yes you heard it right – everything just inside a bus!!
This is a double decker bus which can accommodate 6 people easily. The lower deck has a small but organized kitchen ( including a mini fridge, microwave, gas oven and all utensils & crockeries) and a sitting area on both sides which also serves as a bed and also a hygienic toilet. The upper deck has two double beds on either sides, the interior is again decorated beautifully with a serene view of greens all around .The outdoor area also has a seating arrangement with work station, two sun-loungers and an outdoor fireplace with a huge back & front yard lawn. It has swimming pool (not for guest) and a tennis court which is accessible to guests.
The Brandy Bus – What to Expect
As this property is in between a residential complex we would definitely request not to make too much of loud noise inside the property and disturb others privacy. In that note you can also be sure everyone else dwelling in would maintain the same. We felt the entire property was highly secured especially for the night. In the evening the care taker helped us with lightning the fireplace while we toasted our wine and sang a birthday song. For supper that evening we carried some home-cooked food as we dint wanted to stress on making meals(you can also carry raw materials and do the cooking there as well). Our night ended well and we woke up to the calls of early bird and beam of sun-rays, and couldn’t ask for more on a Sunday morning?
Drove back home by noon!!
