About Serena Sweetwaters Tented Camps

Guessing what make this place worth visiting? We loved staying here the most among all our tented stays so far, and now it’s one of our favourite too. So once you go you would surely know why!

It’s one of the outstanding tented camps located in Kenya into the middle of wild conservancy which is the home for all big 5. The best part of this camp is proximity to sweet water bodies right beside the camp where the wild life visits to quench their thirst all day long. We self-drove to Ol Pejeta from Nairobi in the month of June and felt everything was just perfect for this stunning destination. We booked for a full board package and would recommend you all to do the same and bring home back the best ever memories.

Please Note: To stay at Sweet Waters you need to pay entry fee to enter Ol Pejeta Conservancy. You can find about rates here.

Rooms and Accommodations

Serena sweet waters offers two classifications of rooms – Standard wing tent & Morani wing tent

There are 56 luxurious en-suite tents at Serena sweet waters. However, we preferred staying at standard tent because of the amazing view it offers. We would highly recommend staying at tents from 1-8 if possible (please request) which face the waterholes directly. It also holds a high chance of watching more animals even from inside the room which comes frequently to the waterhole to quench their thirst. The rooms were absolutely comfortable meeting all essential requirements honestly. Our room had a king size bed, bathroom & toilet & private balcony, which overlooked the waterhole which was our main priority.

On the other side are the Morani tents which are double & triple deluxe tents. We felt those tents might have better facilities like a kitchenette, two hand wash basin, bathrobes, shower with a glass door etc. however they are slightly away from the water holes and doesn’t hold amazing view. If you are looking for some privacy & luxury at the same time you can definitely book the Morani wing tents. But if you are someone like us concerning wildlife than definitely go for the standard rooms. We also saw a Rhino directly from our tent at 7pm and in that darkness we guess it’s not possible from Morani tents.

At the time of writing this blog the Room Tariffs are as below:

Standard  wing room tariff: $138 PP Per Night

Morani wing tent tariff: $162 PP Per Night

Dining Experiences

Our meal experience was absolutely amazing. This under-roof was once the ranch’s managers house which is now beautifully converted into the dining hall called the Rhino room. It’s a huge dining area facing the waterholes. We are sure you would have an amazing time eating meals while watching the animals taking their stroll all around. We were offered English buffet breakfast and three course international cuisine – for lunch and dinner. They also served evening coffee & snacks which we really enjoyed to the core because by the evening the entire grassland was covered with gazing wilds. Oh! What a spectacular moment that was.

It also has a bar lounge where you can sip, sit and relax near the fireplace after the great game drive safari. Also if you wish to experience their camp ground dining you can also make an advanced booking which is only possible at the reception.
