There are two dry seasons which are considered to be the best time to visit – between December and February, and between June and September. And it’s also the good time to go for trekking to see mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. Uganda can be extremely busy during these seasons, especially December when there are long breaks for everyone. So make sure you book everything beforehand because the rates for accommodations and transfers might be on a higher side. And if you wish to plan a trip on budget then visiting Uganda from March to May or October and November will help you save some money because those are low seasons.

March to May or October and November are the rainy and the wettest season. You can still see the gorillas during those time, but there is nothing more uncomfortable then trekking in wet socks and shoes. Again it’s a rainforest, it might rain at any hour or month without a prior notice.

The national parks remain in full operation irrespective of seasons so getting the permits won’t be much difficult. You can definitely choose your own time and season to visit Uganda and make the most of everything and regardless of what you choose to do, it’s always better to go prepared.
