Kumbhalgarh Fort

If you wish to visit Udaipur from Delhi via road it would take you around 10-12hours to reach. We would suggest flying would be more convenient, which only takes an hour, if you wish to save some time and energy.

It’s not very difficult to reach Kumbhalgarh fort, you can book a cab from any local tours and travel in Udaipur nearby your location for a day trip(Cost Rs 3,000).

This historic fort is more or less unexplored by tourists yet and is a bit underrated. Now to visit Kumbhalgarh, you need to spend half of your day at least, so if you wish to visit please plan your calendar accordingly. It is approx. 3/4hrs one way drive from Udaipur and is far away from the main city. When we reached it was raining crazy without any prior notice which resulted in complete drenching. So make sure you check with the weather forecast beforehand.Though the drive is pretty good and the road are highly maintained. Also you can stop by any local restaurants nearby for mid day meal /lunch. Please make sure you finish your meal before you enter the Fort as no food joints are available inside.

Let us tell you please dont expect too much from inside, as there are hardly anything to see except for the gigantic walls which are absolutely worth watching.

This is a massive fort you can find in Aravalli Hills in the Rajsamand district near Udaipur, which has the second largest walls in the world after the Great Wall of China. This fort is located between a forest area with some small village in vicinity. The place is absolutely stunning and so picturesque. As this fort is quite a isolation, you might not find many tourists jumping in.

The interior of the fort is quite steep and might need lot of walking so please take care of your shoes as well. Once you reach the top of Kumbhalgarh Fort, the 360 degree view would definitely fascinate you with it’s natural beauty and surroundings. We would highly recommend to visit this fort if you can make out some time from your schedule because it’s worth of time you would invest.
